[Ipmitool-devel] not able to run ipmievd, is "ipmievd open" working?

Hello there,

I was trying to run the ipmievd on my linux server. If not proper place to
ask, please forward to appropriate forum.

uname -a
Linux 3.19.0-49-generic #55~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 22 11:24:31 UTC 2016
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I was able to run the event daemon with sel option but not with open
"option"

Steps followed:
1) I loaded ipmi_devintf and ipmi_si module.
2) started ipmievd open (with/without daemon option)
3) used ipmitool to send dummy events.

a.kodgire:~/new_ipmi/ipmitool-1.8.16/src$ sudo ./ipmievd sel nodaemon
Reading sensors...
Waiting for events...
Memory sensor - Correctable ECC (@DIMM[6(CPU4))
Voltage sensor - Lower Critical going low


a.kodgire:~/new_ipmi/ipmitool-1.8.16/src$ sudo ./ipmievd open nodaemon
Reading sensors...
Waiting for events...

So when I started ipmi event daemon with open option no events are received.
Could you please tell me what I am missing here?
